Jasin Tedjasukmana
Principal and founder

Jasin tedjasukmana was born in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. Upon completing his architecture degree in 1977 from Parahyangan University in Bandung, he immediately began practicing as an architect for James Ferrie & Partners – an English firm in Jakarta with head office in Singapore. Between 1978 – 1983, he spent his spare time lecturing at the architecture faculty of Tarumanegara University, Jakarta. 1978 was then the year Jasin officially became a member of IAI (Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia).

With his decade-long experience, Jasin founded KIAT architects in 1987. With a team of 40 people, KIAT has built an impressive portfolio of work in residential and hotels around Indonesia and throughout the region such as Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. Apart from residential and hotels, KIAT has also produced numerous designs of commercial architecture in Jakarta – Hospitals, schools, office buildings and shopping centres.

Awards:
1980 – First Prize – Redevelopment of Central District of Pasar Baru (a major commercial centre in jakarta)

1989 – Aga Khan Award – Architecture of Citra Niaga of Samarinda.

2006 – Legrand’s Award for Excellent lighting design for Daksa Residence.

2015 – IAI Jakarta Award – Designer of Menteng Hermitage.
